Azimuth Defense brings together engineering and military veteran backgrounds, working with both End Users and technology suppliers to identify capability gaps and corresponding solutions in the marketplace.
Azimuth will inform the customer’s requirements development process, and work to advance the concept of operations. Azimuth works in partnership with our clients, tailoring products to meet customer needs, ensuring that the End User receives a deployable system.
The team excels at maturing defense technologies through the management of testing, demonstrations, limited user evaluations, and by facilitating a shared understanding of the mission and corresponding solution in order to lower acquisition risk.
Requirements development:
As a core competency, Azimuth Defense understands the process of comprehensive requirements development, often coordinating between stakeholders including, but not limited to, End Users, Strategic Planning, Offices of Defense Cooperation, and Suppliers.
Demonstration, Test and Evaluation:
Whether a quick demonstration or a comprehensive capabilities evaluation, Azimuth Defense recognizes that it's not enough to push a solution over for testing without a knowledgeable advocate. Customers need to clearly understand the limitations of the solutions being evaluated, and suppliers should be fully informed of the capability gap their solutions are intended to address. Azimuth will work to ensure capabilities are fairly assessed and promote the cooperative development of corresponding TTP's for deployment.
Procurement:
From contract negotiation to product fielding, Azimuth Defense continues to represent our partners to ensure a successful acquisition and deployment. Azimuth will oversee the delivery and inspection process and will act as an advocate to ensure solutions are deployed as intended and that feedback is relayed to the OEM as efficiently as possible. Furthermore, our team will assist with any warranty issues, providing on the ground situational awareness.
Consolidation and/or Reselling:
When preferred by the customer, Azimuth Defense can and will serve as a reseller, consolidating orders from multiple venders into a single contract. This procurement mechanism is common for smaller less technical items such as tools, PPE, and spare parts.
Training and Field Support:
Azimuth Defense, directly with its existing team or through its network within the region, can support or conduct training and field support in country at the location of the customers choosing. Whether conducting product demonstrations, “train the trainer” classes, or investigating and facilitating warranty repairs, Azimuth routinely represents our partners on-the-ground. This on-the-ground presence often provides our partners a quicker response time and reduced cost over internally deployed resources.

Azimuth Defense Leadership
Azimuth Defense manages all projects with a core team of organic and contracted resources. This team frequently partners with multiple suppliers, as well as local resources, in order to form consortiums tailored for each opportunity. Azimuth leadership will oversee every project, and make every effort to personally support all major milestones.
Paul Green
Managing Principal
With a diverse Engineering and International Business background, and over 18 years in the defense industry, Paul is focused on the advancement and deployment of critical technology and product platforms. Paul has a proven track record growing and diversifying defense companies, as well as expertise in the evaluation and commercialization of frontier technologies. He has played key roles in the development and fielding of transformative technologies in the area of military vehicles and survivability solutions. These products helped to create new multi-billion dollar markets, establish Program of Record platforms, and have provided new life saving solutions to soldiers in the field. Paul has worked in various roles throughout his career to include engineering, international business development, government test and validation liaison, program management, and mergers and acquisitions. In 2016, Paul and Scott established Azimuth Defense LLC., a US and Jordan based defense brokering and services company focused on the sale of C-IED, explosive hazard reduction, critical infrastructure protection and other defense products in the Middle East, North Africa, and West Africa.
Scott Butler
Managing Principal
Scott Butler is the Co-Founder and Managing Principal of Azimuth Defense LLC, and currently manages Azimuth Defense's regional branch office in Amman Jordan. Prior to co-founding Azimuth, Scott served in a variety of international business development roles, where he led teams responsible for global sales, with a focus in the Middle East and Africa. In addition to his civilian business experience, Scott has over 15 years of service, as both an active duty military officer, as well as a member of the Army National Guard, having served in a variety of leadership positions. Currently, Scott is a Major with the Florida Army National Guard, and focuses on foreign security assistance and regional partner support. Scott is a graduate of the Military College of South Carolina. He currently lives in Amman Jordan, with his wife and children.
